Limitless - Chapter 53: God Race? Devil Race?

One hour later, Fatty followed behind Chu Yu dejectedly, with a face as if he had just lost both his parents. He looked just like a doormat.

From his retracted neck to his hobbling feet, no one could tell that this was an Invigorated Meridian Stage Six expert.

What expert’s demeanour? What genius’s pride? All of that can go and eat shit!

The dignified heir to the Thief Sect, was actually reduced to being someone’s slave.

This huge disgrace really caused Fan Jian to be unable to lift his spirits.

It was also against his will when he handed over that demonic art manual. Otherwise, Chu Yu would definitely have killed him.

In the cultivation world governed by the law of the jungle, where was there room for emotions?

Moreover, if he could plot and scheme against others, that meant that others could also plot and scheme against him.

A killer must always be ready to get killed.

The thing that Fan Jian found hard to accept was that, this legendary piece of trash, actually had a talent that was so huge that it was about to explode!

It was great to an unimaginable extent!

He had already possessed that demonic art manual for quite some time.

He got it by plotting against a disciple from a huge sect.

However, he could only understand a few profundities from that manual.

Out of the three techniques on the the first three pages, he only recently managed to understand one technique.

Even though Fan Jian was very despicable, his talent was extremely high. He had always thought himself to be an intellectual.

For a technique which he required a long time to even gain a scant of insights from, he didn’t believe that others could see through it in a short time.

Thus, he decided to plot against Chu Yu one more time.

However, he never expected Chu Yu to have such startling talent. Not only did he instantly see through the problem, he even broke one of Fatty’s legs.

Just now when the Chu Yu rejoining the bones, Chu Yu purposely tortured him, causing him to grieve to the extent that he wished to die. He was even shamed as he was forced to scream out like a pig sent to a slaughterhouse; he almost sh*t his pants…

What the f*ck, this was luck? More like bloody misfortune!

After breaking his leg, Chu Yu even continued to threaten to break his other limbs. He was truly scared.

He accepted his fate, nothing was more important than his life.

He honestly told Chu Yu the true technique of controlling people.

Once again, Fan Jian was shocked by Chu Yu. In a little over 20 minutes, he learnt it…

This demonic art manual was far from ordinary.

Every small technique was described in few words. But the knowledge encompassed within was vast and complex.

Extracting a person’s soul was merely a parlour trick.

Just from that technique manual, he would be achieve infinite possibilities if he were to cultivate it to a higher level!

Even though Chu Yu did not read it in depth, he could feel that if he reached a higher mastery with this technique, he could control countless people in the blink of an eye!

Even though everyone knew that demonic arts were taboo, they still chose to pursue after it.

Chu Yu sighed in his heart.

This trip to the Celestial Fox Immortal Cave had yielded startling rewards.

Even Chu Yu would never have expected to have gained so much.

"The Immortal Crane Pill King was originally a crane. During ancient times, it was named one of the ten great pill masters, and it was also a greater demon."

"He was of a kindly disposition, seemingly responding to all pleas of help. Thus during the ancient times, Crane Saint’s reputation was sonorous. No what faction one was from, he would be of great reverence towards Crane Saint."

"The Immortal Crane Furnace was the magical equipment used by Crane Saint in its early years. It’s said that it followed him to become a divine item. So, there’s no need to talk any further about the value of this furnace…"

When Fatty talked about the Immortal Crane Furnace, his face was filled with vexation and his heart was dripping blood.

This was too depressing!

Just thinking about it was enough to make him cry…

"The Immortal Crane Pill Scripture is even more impressive. It contains all of Crane Saint’s thoughts, experiences and even countless of pill formulas."

"I even heard that many of the pill formulas in the Immortal Crane Pill Scripture was collected by Crane Saint. Some of which, were not even able to be concocted by him!"

"Perhaps it was due to a lack of materials, or a lack of ability… But think about it, a pill formula which could even leave Senior Crane Saint helpless, how terrifying is that?"

Chu Yu silently listened to Fan Jian’s narrative; waves of emotions stirred in his hard.

He was only filled with desire for that bright and glorious era. However, he didn’t know what tribulation had occurred 60 million years ago, which caused the cultivation world to instantly go on a decline. He expressed his doubts towards Fan Jian.

"Regarding this, there are many varying theories."

Fan Jian sighed lightly, "There’s this theory which is more widely accepted by the remnant clans. At the same time, it is also a theory that I am more agreeable with. It’s said that it was due to the clash between various races."

He turned to Chu Yu and suddenly asked, "Have you heard of artificial intelligence?"

"Artificial intelligence?" Chu Yu frowned, "What’s that got to do with this?"

Of course he knew about artificial intelligence. In reality, before the historical turning point which happened 30 over years ago, the people on Earth had already delved into the development of artificial intelligence!

A robot which possessed intelligence was able to replace many jobs. As a result, it caused large scale unemployment.

During that time, only a few people supported artificial intelligence, but those few people…were the people in power!

Thus, artificial intelligence continued to improve at an exponential rate.

However, when this new era arrived, artificial intelligence seemed to have been forced to a standstill!

Over the past few years, there was no longer any break throughs in the science of artificial intelligence.

"Of course they’re related." Fan Jian smiled ruefully. "Even though the Thief Sect’s reputation isn’t really good, but in all honesty, the Thief Sect’s intelligence department is the the most well-informed. Even the intelligence department of those supreme ancient schools cannot compare to the Thief Sect in this aspect."

Fan Jian looked at Chu Yu, "Actually, back in the ancient times, there were already methods similar to Black Technology. There were simply too many to count. When compared to the ancient times, our modern technology could only be considered little playthings."

As Chu Yu thought about this, he did agree with Fan Jian’s words. He, himself, had witnessed the power of ancient technology.

"For ordinary people, their world only has three dimensions. But the world of cultivators, is already of multiple dimensions."

"There’s also the Spirit World, Mental World, Fantasy World… Each of these worlds are vast and profound!"

"In actuality, the final destination for modern scientists and their research will be the same, no matter what field they’re in."

Fan Jian looked at Chu Yu, "It is theology!"

Chu Yu nodded; he had seen the notes of many modern scientists, in China and other parts of the world. All of research seemed to point towards the theology, the study of God.

This included the revolutionary Chinese scientist, Xiao Zhen. Not only did this senior turn to theology, he even achieved remarkable accolades in the field.

If not for him, the world might still have a sealed mentality.

"The universe is broad and vast. There are countless of different races; there’s the human race, the demon race, the hybrid of the human and demon race, and there’s even the cyborg race, etc."

Fan Jian seemed to be very familiar with this subject, "But among them, there’s the most terrifying race. They seemed to rule over all the other races. That is when artificial intelligence advanced to the pinnacle… and formed its own race."

Chu Yu frowned; when artificial intelligence advanced to the pinnacle? That’s hard to imagine.

Fan Jian continued, "They call themselves the God Race, and believed themselves to be the most outstanding of races, with the ability of commanding the entire universe. However, we call them the Devil Race. That manual that you just took, was actually a low grade manual from the Devil Race."

"God Race? Devil Race? Low grade manual?" Chu Yu was speechless.

That manual’s knowledge was deep and profound; it was only a low grade manual? And regarding the God Race and Devil Race, Chu Yu had heard of it before.

But it was the first time Chu Yu heard it from the perspective of the Fatty.

Before this, he had never heard that the God Race and Devil Race were actually the same, and he would never have imagined that it would be related to articifical intelligence.

After all, this sort of information, was only circulated among the people in power.

"So, 30 years ago, when the world changed and spiritual energy was revitalised, the various powers agreed on one thing. That was to stop the development of artificial intelligence!"

"They were not willing to interfere much with the mortal world, but regarding this matter, it had to be stopped. Otherwise, the history which happened 60 million years ago would repeat itself."

Fan Jian turned to Chu Yu, "The source of the demise of the world of cultivation those years ago, was rumoured to be this."

Chu Yu could not help but inhale a breath of cold air. After some time, he finally said, "But I have seen some ancient manuals, they say that the Devil Race were alien beings. They could transform their appearances, but their original appearances were ugly and unbearable. They emitted a cold and evil aura, seemingly coming from the abyss…"

"Those… are merely the lesser beings of the Devil Race, but they are indeed very terrifying." Fan Jian continued, "But I heard, the core members of the God Race, only number a few. They were not able to cultivate like intelligent beings. If they wish to survive, they needed to continuously evolve. And to evolve, they need an unfathomable amount of resources. Thus, they enslaved a portion of their race to fight with the other races so that they could obtain resources, and most importantly… the Dao Fruit of the strong cultivators!"

"There was an even more fundamental cause of conflict between the human race and the Devil Race. That is, when the human race and other intelligent beings reached the apex of their cultivation, not only do they become immortal, their methods become uncertain and uncontrollable."

"And for the Devil Race, they supposedly originated from the human race. This was something that they did not want to accept. Secondly, no matter what they did, they would go through countless rounds of calculations, and only when they reached a certain possibility of success, then would they act."

"But the human race and the other intelligent beings were different. Just like previously, when that b*stard Wu Dong tried to kill you, you did not hesitate to kill him. But this sort of thing, would never be done by the Devil Race. Because they would feel, by killing Wu Dong, they will result in multiple chain reactions, and the final outcome would be hard to predict. Thus, they would not take the risk to kill him."

Chu Yu nodded, "This is the difference between instinct and logic."

"This matter is still too far from us. The world has only just finally revitalised. It’s more important to make use of our time to cultivate and earn some legacies. As much as we can, we have to make ourselves stronger. That is the way to go."

Fan Jian carefully turned to Chu Yu, "Then… Boss, can we discuss about the previous matter?"

"No."

"Don’t be so emotionless mah. Look, if anything happens in the future, I will help you take up the mantle. But the Immortal Crane Pill Scripture…"

"Take up your own mantle. You can forget about the Immortal Crane Pill Scripture!"

"..."

Fatty was sent back to depression.
Limitless

Limitless - Chapter 52: Buying Life

Wu Dong’s life energy was great, and he had a life preservation magical equipment preventing his life essence from slipping away.

He turned around in shock, and looked at the tall, slim youth who had attacked him, "You..."

Chu Yu looked at him coldly and channeled a little more strength into his two hands, twisting the two blades inside Wu Dong’s body!

In an instant, two huge cavities opened up in Wu Dong’s chest, blood streaming out of him.

"Ah!"

Wu Dong could not help but let out a bone chilling scream.

At this point, he could no longer prevent his life essence from slipping away, and he stared at Chu Yu with bloodshot eyes, "Mr. Song... I have no feud with you..."

"No feud? Let's not consider the fact that you had revealed you intention to kill me along the way." Chu Yu smiled coldly, "They key here is... I am Chu Yu!"

Silence!

In that moment, except for Chu Yu, the other two people on the scene were completely dumbfounded.

Wu Dong momentarily forgot the pain and the fact that he was about to die!

His eyes revealed his disbelief, "You you... how can it be? How can you be that... wasted..."

Even before he could finish, he saw the face of the young and tall youth in front of him twist and turn before a handsome man appeared.

Who else could it be other than Chu Yu?

Pui!

Wu Dong spit out another mouthful of blood, completely destroyed.

Chu Yu removed the two bronze daggers and Wu Dong’s body fell to the ground, dead.

He lay there, eyes still wide open even in death!

Chu Yu bent over and took the Spirit Stunning Bow from Wu Dong’s hand. He weighed it in his hand and said to the fatty, still on the ground, completely speechless from the shock of what he just witnessed, "What is the grade of this thing? Spirit Stunning Bow? What a nice name."

Fan Jian’s faced twitched, his eyes revealing his uncontrollable fear as his heart filled with bitterness.

He was too clear that if Chu Yu was willing to reveal such an earth shattering secret in front of him, Chu Yu had no intention of letting him live.

But, he did not want to die!

"I didn’t expect... that Master Chu was never wasted. Indeed, you live up to your name... True Heaven’s Pride... ahem, Spirit Stunning Bow... is a venerable precious equipment." Fan Jian could not hold it in any longer and coughed out two mouthfuls of blood.

If he hadn’t used the Immortal Crane Furnace to block the attack from the Spirit Stunning Bow, his body would have probably been shattered.

He was extremely fortunate to barely escape the grasps of death.

When he met with Wu Dong, he was suppressing his powers, but now, he could not suppress them any longer.

"Venerable previous equipment? That’s great!" Chu Yu laughed.

Under the gaze of his vertical eye, he could clearly see the fatty’s state. As such, he did not bother about him, instead opting to pick up the bronze dagger from Wu Dong.

He then put the Spirit Stunning Bow and the few bronze blades into his storage ring.

Afterwhich, Chu Yu managed to feel an ancient classic and a few ancient maps on Wu Dong’s body.

The map was that of the Celestial Fox Immortal Cave pocket dimension. Chu Yu glanced at it before keeping it.

He then looked at the ancient classic in his hand.

This classic was also made of a kind of metal, and it was extremely light, and it seemed to be made of the same material as the Immortal Crane Furnace.

The cover was inscribed with the words - Immortal Crane Pill Scripture.

It radiated with an ancient aura.

Chu Yu opened it to read, yet there were no words. When Chu Yu used his energy to perceive it, he barely managed to perceive a single line of words.

Anything below was beyond his perception.

He wanted to try to force the perception, yet, a wave of dizziness came over him.

In that instant, he felt extremely lethargic.

Chu Yu immediately stopped.

His heart burned: This was a superior scripture.

And it was a scripture for refining pills!

This was a genuine superior teaching, without sufficient ability or energy, it was impossible to learn.

This was different from the Superclass. The superclass was for the foundation level cultivators to use, so it was all written words.

When Saints teach, they do not discriminate, anyone who was willing to learn could.

Yet, there were clearly prerequisites for learning this Immortal Crane Scripture. It required higher levels and abilities, as well as powerful energies in order to utilise it for cultivation!

The fatty lying on the pile of ruins looked jealously at the scripture in Chu Yu’s hand, his heart bleeding.

That should have been mine! B*stard Wu Dong, Jerk Song Hong... F*ck that should have been mine!

I want to become learn from the lord of the pills!

I want to get his teachings, I couldn’t care less about being the heir to the thief clan.

Fan Jian felt his heart shatter.

In this era, the Celestial Fox Immortal Cave was quite a remarkable place!

Because this was once the residence of an ancient pill king!

The Immortal Crane Pill King!

He was a real legendary master of pill cultivation!

It was said that he was a monster saint.

Back then, there were countless people who would come here to beg for medicine, as such this place was renowned.

The only reason why Wu Dong and fatty both thought that the Celestial Fox Immortal Cave would have the teachings of the Pill King was because many ancient annals had recorded that the Immortal Crane Pill King had left to tour places a few years before the huge catastrophe.

In actual fact he had went to the other stars to find medicine!

After the huge catastrophe, the various saints had sealed the entire world. By then, even if the Pill King had wanted to return, he would not be able to open the seal alone.

As such, many people were pretty sure that the teachings and assets of the Pill King were still in his cave residence!

The only issue is that the world has changed immensely with time, over the millions of years, no one could be sure of where the Pill King’s cave residence was.

This time, when news of the discovery of the Celestial Fox Immortal Cave reached the ears of Fan Jian and Wu Dong, they had found out through cross referencing that this could have been the ancient cave residence of the Pill King!

In that moment, they were all ecstatic, and they decided independently... to explore it themselves!

If such news were found out by their teachers, it would be almost impossible for them to keep the teachings and assets to themselves!

Even before the world had recovered, the Pill King’s inheritance was enough to make anybody jealous!

Now all the more so.

Whoever could get their hands on the Pill King’s inheritance had basically been given a smooth sailing route in his cultivation journey.

Chu Yu kept the Immortal Crane Furnace and the Immortal Crane Pill Scripture, then turned to look at Fan Jian who was still lying on the ground.

"Master Song... no, master Chu, let's... make a deal?" Fatty tried to make his voice sound calm, suppressing all the edges in his voice.

"Is it time for us to settle the score?" Chu Yu looked at Fan Jian calmly.

No one liked to be lied to, and definitely no one liked to be set up!

If he wasn't alert enough, he could very well have been dead, thanks to this Fatty.

He did not plan on letting him live, and was not very interested in this Fatty’s earth shattering secret either.

There were countless secrets in the world, many of them not worth the attention.

Anyways, not all the opportunities could be gained by him, one would not make much of a difference.

"Master Chu, hear me out, in my current state... you have seen, you can kill me in a single blow, I do not have the power to resist."

Fan Jian looked bitter, and as he spoke, his heart felt like it was being stabbed.

If it wasn't for the fact that that jerk Wu Dong had sneaked an attack on him, no matter how strong Chu Yu’s battle power was, as an Invigorated Meridian Stage Six expert, he was not scared.

"I know, I set you up, and that is my mistake, I deserve to die." Fan Jian looked at Chu Yu with wide eyes, "but now, I want to use a secret to buy my life. And, I am willing... to serve you loyally for life and be your loyal servant."

Fan Jian’s plump face revealed a pained expression.

He really did not want to die, and he didn't deserve to die!

In this era where the world has returned to its former glory, anyone with such talent was given a smooth path to attain higher levels of cultivation!

Any Heaven’s Pride with some ambition thought the same way!

Chu YU looked at Fan Jian’s twisted plump face and said flatly, "Initially I had no feud with you, yet you had tried to set me up for death, what kind of secret do you think can exchange for your life?"

As Chu Yu spoke, his eyes revealed an icy, murderous glow as he activated his killing equipment.

Even though he could see Fatty’s tragic state under the gaze of his vertical eye, he did not want to delay it any longer, this Fatty had too many tricks up his sleeves.

But who could be certain that he had no backup?

"No no, don't activate your killing equipment... my secret can definitely trade for my life!"

Fan Jian continued, "Its Houyi... I know Houyi’s grave, and inside it is his bow, it's real, it's definitely real, I... I have the relevant details on me."

"The Red Bow?" Chu Yu frowned.

"Mm mm mm, yes, the Red Bow, I know where it is buried!" Fan Jian looked pleadingly at Chu Yu, "I can take you there!"

"You aren’t thinking of trapping me again are you?" Chu Yu smiled hypocritically at Fan Jian, "If you know where it is, why don't you go get it yourself?"

"That place is too dangerous and my cultivation level is too low." Fan Jian whispered.

"And mine is high?" Chu Yu laughed, this bloody Fatty is still trying to trap him at this time.

"No no no, please don’t misunderstand, I am not asking you to go now." Fan Jian made up his mind and grit his teeth, " I have a type of spiritual offering technique, that can tie my spirit to a string for you to control..."

"Bring it here." Chu Yu said without hesitation.

Even though this guy deserved to die, he knew many things and the secrets he has on hand are likely to be much less than he’s letting on.

He came from the Thief Sect, and it was one of the most respected sects by the thieves in the ancient era!

For such ancient sects, the secrets they know and the resources at their disposal were both a stunning number.

As such, if he could control the heir of the Thief Sect, it was way more worthwhile than killing him.

The Fatty trembled as he reached for an ancient classic and handed it to Chu Yu.

As Chu Yu flipped through the classic, he found that the things recorded inside were rather sinister.

If it wasn’t a method to control life, it was another sinister, evil technique.

It gave people the feeling that it came from a demonic cult.

"The third page... the third technique." Fan Jian blinked his eyes, looked at Chu Yu and whispered.

Chu Yu glanced at the technique and laughed. He glanced at the Fatty, "Do you really think that I am so uncultured and easily fooled?"

If he had really followed the Fatty’s instructions and trained using the third technique on the third page, Chu Yu’s body would stiffen and be unable to move for about an hour.

Chu Yu would not lose to anyone when it came to cultivation talent!

How could he fall for a trick like that?

If his body stiffened for an hour... that would be enough for Fatty to recuperate and kill him!

The Fatty’s face stiffened and he smiled dryly, "I know my mistake!"

Chu Yu raised his leg unassumingly before ferociously stomping on Fatty’s leg.

Kacha!

Fatty let out an inhuman scream - one of the bones in his calf had been broken by Chu Yu.

"Don’t be scared, I am not a good person."

Chu Yu smiled widely, but his body was radiating with murderous energy!

"Master Chu... spare my life, please spare my life, I will be obedient this time, I will listen to you!"
Limitless

Limitless - Chapter 51: Bloody Fatty

Fan Jian!

Chu Yu recognized him instantly!

This chap with his butt sticking out was the bloody fatty who had tried to set him up!

At that moment, Fan Jian had just found a piece equipment and pulled it up from the dirt with all his might. The equipment was caked in dirt, but Chu Yu recognized it instantly as a pill furnace!

The pill furnace was shaped like a cauldron, with three legs and two handles. Including its stands, it was over two feet tall and a foot and a half long.

Because it was blurred by the dirt, it looked dirty and it was impossible to see its original state.

However, any equipment that could be preserved from the ancient times was likely to be extraordinary!

Any ordinary equipment of lower quality would have been destroyed by time.

As such, when Fan Jian found the pill furnace, he couldn’t help but guffaw.

"Hahahaha, indeed I’ve found it! Immortal Crane Furnace... hahahaha, divine equipment!" As he guffawed, he did not forget to survey his surroundings, his expression careful and alert.

Chu Yu looked at the guffawing fatty with cold eyes, then he watched him, hands shaking, carefully wipe off the mud on top of the furnace.

Chu Yu would clearly see that the parts of the furnace, revealed after the dirt was removed, were clean and shining!

This meant that the mud had never actually stuck to the pill furnace!

The precious equipment could keep itself clean!

When Chu Yu thought about this, his excitement rose!

He had once read in ancient records an introduction to the superior magical equipment from the ancient cultivation era.

He could clearly remember one of the lines, "all precious treasures and equipment could clean themselves!"

The more superior the magical equipment, the more spiritual power it had. Even if they had been buried deep in the jungle for billions of years, after you wipe off the sand on top, they would still be extremely shiny!

Any equipment which could be termed as a precious equipment was at least in the Xiantian stages!

In this day and age, even Xiantian stage equipment were considered treasures, everything above that... could only be termed as "Legendary Equipment".

Clearly the equipment that the bloody fatty had dug up was a genuine legendary equipment!

That’s why he was so excited!

Chu Yu was in no hurry to attack Fan Jian because he knew that this guy had a very high cultivation level.

He had an aura suppressing magical equipment or amulet on him, making it difficult for others to find out his true power.

In the moment that Fan Jian had climbed through the enchantment, Chu Yu had saw through his vertical eye that this b*stard had already broken through six of his 20 true meridians.

That would mean that this bloody fatty was an Invigorated Meridian Stage 6 genuine Heaven’s Pride!

If it wasn’t for the fact that Chu Yu had saw through him previously, he could have very well been killed by him.

Think about it, someone who could be an Invigorated Meridian Stage Six martial artist at the tender age of 27 or 28 was a true Heaven’s Pride!

For someone like that, no matter how bad his character or temper was, how could he not have any arrogance in his bones?

As such, since then he had felt that something was amiss.

The truth was that this bloody fatty was indeed trying to bury him.

In fact, in Chu Yu’s opinion, this jerk wasn’t just trying to bury him, but the few arrogant people were also likely to have been fooled by him!

Else, who would underestimate a youthful expert in the middle of Invigorated Meridian Stage Six?

Chu Yu hid in the dark, and continued to observe Fan Jian wiping the pill furnace in his hand.

Even though the pill furnace was not small, it seemed as light as a feather in fatty’s hand.

By turning it around, he quickly cleaned away all the dust and dirt on the pill furnace.

In actual fact, he did not need much effort to wipe the dirt off because the sand and dirt never really stuck onto the pill furnace.

After it was cleaned, the pill furnace revealed it true colors.

The pill furnace was silky black and looked quaint, the metal sparkling. From Chu Yu’s direction, he could see an Immortal Crane engraved on the side of the pill furnace.

The Immortal Crane looked extremely realistic, almost as if it could fly out of the pill furnace anytime!

Fan Jian hugged the Immortal Crane Furnace with both hands, intoxicated and contented by his find.

At this point, a ray of light was emitted from a side, and it was aimed straight at Fan Jian!

Fan Jian, who was hugging the Immortal Crane Furnace got a shock and instinctively used the Immortal Crane Furnace to block the ray of light.

Dang!

A loud sound echoed out!

A deafening sound!

Even Chu Yu, who was far away, felt his internal organs tumbling about and his chest was getting stuffy.

He looked in that direction with shock.

Fan Jian was immediately knocked into the air and he spit out a mouthful of blood mid air.

He landed on a pile of debris several meters out.

Chu Yu had his vertical eye in his forehead the entire time, and he could see clearly that the place where Fan Jian landed was surrounded by evil and deathly auras.

When those auras were about to enter Fan Jian’s body, there was a faint energy shield that blocked all of those auras!

There were even more treasures on this fella, treasures that could even block the auras of death and evil.

As expected, he came from an influential place!

However, Chu Yu was slightly taken aback, how could a highly skilled, Invigorated Meridian Stage Six martial artist could be seriously injured by a single hit from a ray of light?

He looked at the Immortal Crane Furnace on the ground, and saw that it was virtually unharmed.

If it wasn’t for the fact that the Immortal Crane Furnace had helped Fan Jian block the attack, that ray of light would likely have opened up a cave inside his body!

Fan Jian lay there raging whilst moaning in pain, "Which b*stard launched a sneak attack on me? F*ck you... don’t let me find you, else I’ll make you wish you were dead!"

Chu Yu lay hidden, his eyes never leaving the point of origin of the light. After the opponent had attacked successfully, he did not come out in that instant.

This made Chu Yu admire this guy’s shrewdness, and his temperament.

At this point, Fan Jian shouted in anger, "F*ck you, you have the guts to launch a sneak attack but you don’t have the balls to come out and meet me? You jerk, don’t let me find out who attacked me, else i will never let you off! Come out! Who are you? I can’t take it anymore, are you still too afraid to come out and let me see where you’re from, you little imp?

"Haha, Fan Jian, you really are a lowlife fatty. I didn’t think that you would hide your powers so much. Furthermore, I couldn’t have expected that you would have the map of this place."

A silhouette accompanied the voice.

Chu Yu found the voice familiar, when he saw him, he was taken aback.

Wu Dong!

Wu Dong from the Wu Clan of Qing Hai.

He had humiliated Chu Yu and even tried to forcefully take Chu Xiaoxiao away during that party in the Dragon City.

In the end, Chu Tianxiong had used Tai Qing to scare him away.

His appearance here surprised Chu Yu.

This is because amongst all the people in the Wu Clan, Wu Dong was one of the weaker ones in terms of cultivation.

Fan Jian had lied to Chu Yu then that he was an Acupoint Charging Stage Eight. However, Wu Dong was well and truly an Acupoint Charging martial artist.

An Acupoint Charging martial artist managed to make it in here? And without a single scratch?

Even though Chu Yu was also an Acupoint Charging martial artist, he had never seen himself as an ordinary Acupoint Charging martial artist.

Chu Yu felt a little surprised to see Wu Dong here.

It would seem that the ancient schools had managed to preserve some impressive teachings and... powerful magical equipment!

Fan Jian was also slightly shocked to see Wu Dong, but he laughed icily, "Do you think that I don't have anything left to defeat you?

Wu Dong walked over and stopped in front of the Immortal Crane Furnace. He said flatly, "Immortal Crane Furnace, Immortal Crane Pill Scripture... the top 10 ancient pill furnaces and the top 10 pill scriptures. Such treasures can only be owned by those with morals."

Fan Jian was shocked, "You have the Immortal Crane Pill Scripture?"

Wu Dong did not answer, instead, he looked at Fan Jian with a cold smile, "You're a shameless thief, you are not deserving enough to own such legendary treasures."

Fan Jian laughed coldly, "You little b*stard, I really didn't expect you to suppress your abilities this much, but you're still an ant in the Acupoint Charging realm, do you really think that you can go toe to toe with me?"

"Under normal circumstances, no, but now, you are seriously injured. I have to admit that this little act of yours was quite genius, and you nearly got me. A pity you met with this!"

As Wu Dong spoke, he waved a magical equipment in his hand.

It was a small bow, about the size of a palm, yet it did not have any arrows. That ray of light had been fired from this small bow.

"Spirit Stunning Bow?" Fan Jian’s expression revealed his surprise.

Wu Dong snickered and bared his teeth, "It seems you do know your stuff. You really do live up to your name as one of the heirs of the Thief Clan."

Fan Jian’s expression became solemn, "I didn't think that you knew this much."

"A little more than you imagine." Wu Dong replied.

Fan Jian paled, his face devoid of color, his injuries were indeed severe.

The Spirit Stunning Bow was a magical equipment beyond the Xiantian stages and its power was unparalleled. The only reason why he survived an attack from it was because of the Immortal Crane Furnace.

Fan Jian’s eyes sparkled as he looked at Wu Dong, "I can give you the Immortal Crane Furnace, and I will swear on my parents that I will not take revenge! Since you know my identity, you should know you will regret if you kill me."

"Swear on your parents? Bloody fatty, who in this circle doesn't know that you're a low life? Haven't your parents reputation been spoilt by you countless times?" Wu Dong laughed coldly.

"Then what do you want?" Fan Jian’s forehead flashed with a wave of evil.

He was a Heaven’s Pride youth in the intermediate stages of Invigorated Meridian Stage Six, even though he acted weak and humble, he did not have a lack of confidence and arrogance ingrained in him.

He couldn't stand being mocked by an Acupoint Charging martial artist like Wu Dong.

"Kill you!"

"With your ability, can you even activate that Spirit Stunning Bow another time?" Fan Jian said condescendingly.

"I still have a blade!" Wu Dong said flatly as he retrieved an ancient bronze blade.

Chu Yu watched from a distance and realized that this was rather similar to the two he had. He thought to himself, This really is a mass produced item...

"It can kill you all the same!" Wu Dong’s eyes flashed with an icy murderous glow.

He was very clear on the consequences of antagonizing someone like Fan Jian, as such, from the start, when Fan Jian used the Immortal Crane Furnace to save his own life, he had no intention of letting this bloody fatty off!

Seeing Wu Dong walking deliberately towards him, bronze dagger in hand, Fan Jian couldn't help but scream, "Brother Song, big brother Song, granddaddy Song, I made a mistake, I really made a mistake. If you save my life, I swear on my soul that I will serve you forever, if I betray you, I'll be struck by lightning!"

Wu Dong looked to his surroundings suspiciously.

Of course he knew who brother Song was, he had even thought of finding an opportunity to kill him before entering the cave!

Chu Yu continued to hide, unmoving.

This bloody fatty was usually so shameless, only a fool would believe his promises.

"Ancestor Song, I know I've made a mistake, I really realize my mistake now. If you save me, I will give my soul as an offering to you, my new master, and I will reveal to you a great secret! Please, I'm begging you, a life is at stake... f*ck, if you still don't save me, no one will know the secret forever! I swear on my little brother , if I'm lying, I will have erectile problems for the rest of my life! Owowowow, please save me brother Song!"

Fan Jian screamed hysterically..

Wu Dong hesitated, he was extremely focused, trying to find out if this bloody fatty was bluffing.

Zoom!

A silhouette suddenly appeared at Wu Dong’s back.

His speed was unimaginably quick!

Almost like a ray of light!

Wu Dong used all his powers to transfer his energy into the Spirit Stunning Bow, wanting to shoot it at the figure behind him when suddenly -

Two razor sharp bronze daggers penetrated his body from the back and protruded out front.

Wu Dong lowered his head in disbelief

With a scream, he spit out a mouthful of blood.
Limitless

Limitless - Chapter 50: The Route To Cultivation Is Difficult

The others were all stunned!

Especially Fan Jian, he was dumbfounded when he saw the man killed!

That was a disciple of an ancient clan!

He was an Invigorated Meridian Stage Two young talent!

Yet he was killed by a single punch?

This Song dude did not seem that powerful either, how did he do it?

In the blink of an eye, Fan Jian shouted, "Brother Song, run quickly, I will block them!"

"…" Chu Yu was speechless.

"…" so were the others.

This person was an unrivalled low-life.

There couldn’t be anyone who could be more despicable.

Did he really think that everyone else was a fool?

Who could possibly believe him at this point?

However, Fan Jian still turned and ran without a single moment of hesitation.

The remaining people charged at Chu Yu.

Chu Yu used the Voice Transmission Technique to tell Lord Thief, "Run, quickly!"

Lord Thief immediately understood and shrieked, "This is really scary, run quickly…"

Lord Thief disappeared in a whiff of smoke.

At this point, the remaining people had already begun their attack on Chu Yu.

They all had magical equipment in their hands, even though they could not harness the full potential of the equipment, it was rather stunning.

The youth in the green tunic had an ancient sword in his hand. The blade was crimson red like blood, when it was wielded; it had a red glow to it.

This was also a magical weapon of the Xiantian realm.

Chu Yu retrieved the bronze dagger that he had gotten from Qi Heng and channelled his power into it. In that moment, there was a sword spirit that exploded along the dagger.

"That’s Qi Heng’s weapon!"

"Thief, you shall pay with your life!"

"You jerk, go to hell!"

These men did have deep connections with Qi Heng from Jiu Xiao, so much so that they could recognize Qi Heng’s weapon.

They attacked ferociously, even though they were from different clans, they had quite a lot of synergy and blocked off all Chu Yu’s escape paths.

Almost all of these men were youths but were already Invigorated Meridian realm experts.

They wanted to kill Chu Yu right here!

The light from the magical equipment met and they exploded with a scary wave of force.

Even a mountain could be levelled by such a wave of force.

Boom!

A loud sound echoed out.

Chu Yu retreated over 10 steps, and the feeling of blood rushing up came over him, a stream of blood dripping from the corner of his mouth.

The others were not any better, all of them retreating many steps.

A couple of them also had blood dripping from them.

They looked at Chu Yu with aghast, their eyes shining with disbelief.

How could he be this strong?

From the wave of energy from Chu Yu’s body, he was clearly a martial artist who had not reached the Invigorated Meridian realm.

You could have such power just by being in the Acupoint Charging realm?

Could it be that this man…could match the core sons of the ancient sects?

If that was the case, it was too terrifying!

It was difficult to say, but this guy could be from the ancient powers.

Thinking of this, the attackers surrounding Chu Yu doubted themselves.

Chu Yu, holding the ancient bronze dagger in his hand, scanned over these people icily, memorizing all their features and appearances.

Even though Fan Jian was shameless, he did get one thing right: There have been many cases of murder without reason in this world.

Yet, Chu Yu had no intention of being the victim!

He would not kill without being provoked, but if someone was going to kill him, he was not going to sit back and await death.

Anyone who wanted to use compassion and love to defeat the opponent was brain damaged.

Compassion and love… need to be built upon strength and ability in order to be effective.

Chu Yu retreated slowly and said icily, "I remember all of you; I hope you all will always be this united, don’t ever be left out."

As he spoke, he bent over and picked up the magical weapon of the guy he had just killed.

It was also a bronze dagger, extremely similar to the one he had in hand.

Chu Yu had his suspicions, could this bronze dagger be made in bulk in the ancient times and used specially for the cultivating disciples?

However, even if they were just training daggers in the ancient times, they were real treasures in the current era.

Every one of them was considered priceless.

Chu Yu uncourteously kept the dagger, and looked at the group of men with apprehension in their eyes, smiled coldly and left.

The group of men who had surrounded Chu Yu were speechless, none of them daring to move.

When Chu Yu’s silhouette disappeared from view, one of them sighed and murmured, "This man isn’t very high up the cultivation levels, his aura… how is he this scary?

"He reminds me of… a few of the best Heaven’s Pride back in my clan."

"We seem to have antagonized someone we should never have antagonized."

The youth in the green tunic was deep in thought, a look of apprehension clear in his eyes. After a long time, he said solemnly, "If we don’t get rid of this guy, he’ll be a huge threat to us!"

"However, even when we came together to attack him, we didn’t manage to do much." The white-teethed, slightly mean girl said with much apprehension, "Even brother Liu died from a single hit, he… is no ordinary underworld clan disciple!"

"Indeed, based on his technique and flair, he does not seem as careful as those underworld clan disciples. There is a good chance he is like us, originating from ancient clans. However, his standing is probably higher than us." Another added.

This pricked their hearts and they did not look good.

"Fan Jian that low life is to blame, if not for him, how would we have antagonized such an unknown powerful enemy?" Someone lamented.

"Enough, things are already this way, nothing that we say can change it. If we can’t kill him this time, we will contact the stronger people in our sects and have them do it for us." The youth in the green tunic eyes, Qin Ming, glimmered as he firmed up this decision.

In the cultivation world, antagonizing others was usually fatal.

One could be a thief a thousand days, but one couldn’t be on guard for a thousand days.

Even when antagonizing a small fry, one could not be certain when he would scheme against you and cause you damage beyond redemption. When antagonizing a powerful individual with limitless power, the consequences were all the more severe.

Countless similar incidents have been seen all throughout the cultivation world.

It was better 30 years ago, when the world hadn’t fully recovered.

Back then, everyone led difficult lives, even the ancient sects, clans and gangs who never stopped passing down their knowledge did not have much interactions with each other.

At most, all they had was the occasional friendly competition, and that was considered frequent.

At that point, everybody was improving extremely slowly, even the extremely talented Heaven’s Pride disciples needed a long time to grow and improve.

Yet, it was a different case now, after 30 years, many ancient sects, clans and gangs have recovered much of that lost vigour.

They had never stopped passing down their teachings, even though the best of them had been brought away, what was left was not to be underestimated.

After so many years, many had raised themselves to unimaginable levels.

Since the ancient times, no one actually knew how many pocket dimensions there were.

As such, for people like Song Hong, no one could know if he had a powerful, grand backer.

For such people, one either respectfully kept one’s distance or make friends with him. Once you antagonize him, you have to get rid of him quickly!

Else, the consequences would be dire!

As such, Qin Ming and the others decided that once they left the Celestial Fox Immortal Cave, they would contact the experts in their own clans to kill off Song Hong!

Chu Yu did not actually disappear into the magical formation; his forehead became icy from the murderous thought even as the flame in chest raged.

He was angry with these few men, and also at Fan Jian.

Even though he had prepared for this, he did not expect that these people would be so shameless.

Taking revenge for Qi Heng?

What rubbish!

It was more likely that they were eyeing the teachings he had gotten from the Ruins of the Pile of Three Stars,

Even if they had their eyes on it, they could have just robbed him, yet, they were prepared to kill them without hesitation.

You had better not let me catch you all alone!

Chu Yu’s heart burnt with an unparalleled rage.

After which, he began to calm down.

He had known that the cultivation world was brutal, even in the glorious ancient days; the cultivation world was also an extremely cruel and brutal place.

Yet, what you heard and what you observe with your own eyes were still very different experiences.

Chu Yu was born in the New Era, in a prosperous city. When he had first killed on Mount Tai, he had felt much uneasiness.

However, in a short period of time and having had some experience, he had grown accustomed to it.

Such adaptation was forced into of him.

For example, when he had killed that ancient clan disciple, his heart had only wavered a little. Even though he could not kill in cold blood, he did not feel as bad as he did when he first took a life.

Chu Yu opened his vertical eye in his forehead and surveyed his surroundings. Ever since he entered, he could feel that there was danger everywhere.

Many of these were not killing arrays, rather, they had leaked and aura of death and evil!

These auras were invisible to the naked eye. Those with high levels of cultivation were able to sense some of them, but not completely.

This was because not all auras of death and evil were so obvious.

It was only under the gaze of Chu Yu’s vertical eye did the layout of this entire place become clear to him.

There was a faint, slightly greyish material that was mixed into the air, floating about like dust.

When it came into contact with a living thing, it would quickly tunnel into the body of the living organism.

The aura of death would extinguish the fire of life, whilst the aura of evil would tamper with one’s spirit.

"How very dangerous!" Chu Yu couldn’t help but exclaim, it was no wonder that only a few people could come out from this ancient ruin with their lives.

These gases were spread throughout the entire ruins, they were everywhere!

"I don’t even know how the Lord Thief is." Chu Yu was a little worried.

Chu Yu avoided these gases and advanced. He found a figure lying down ahead.

When he approached, he got a shock of his life, this man had become a dry corpse!

His skin was devoid of moisture and stuck to his skeleton. He looked ghastly and it would terrify anyone.

Based on his dressing and his appearance, he could vaguely recognize this person as one of those who had entered earlier. He was of decent standing, yet, despite his abilities, he had died here without any news.

All the protective magical equipment and life saving techniques were meaningless in a place like this.

Unless you had an all seeing eye like Chu Yu, you had to depend on your luck.

Chu Yu shook his head and sighed. As he had no way of getting to the body, he turned and egressed quickly from the place.

This plot of ancient land was dilapidated, a far cry from the ancient site beneath the Ruins of the Pile of Three Stars.

After about half an hour, Chu Yu finally found a dilapidated palace ahead.

The palace was in ruins, leaving only broken walls and smashed pillars. One could only guess how many years this palace had been destroyed for.

There was a slightly plump figure with his butt sticking out flipping through the wreckage.

He murmured to himself, "It should be here… my map can’t be wrong!"

Library of Heaven's Path - Chapter 23: Troublemaker

Tianxuan City was the capital of Tianxuan Kingdom. To be capable of becoming one of the four great families of the city, the prowess of the Wang family was one to behold.

Even the principal of the Hongtian Academy would have to spare some face for such a powerful family. To think that of all teachers, Wang Ying would choose to acknowledge a fellow who had scored zero in the Teacher Qualification Examination. That was an insult!

A massive insult!

Even though other people might not be aware of the affairs shrouding Zhang Xuan, as a student of the academy, Wang Tao had heard a lot about him. He had once misguided a student, causing his cultivation to go berserk, thus sullying the reputation of the teachers!

This person was the topic of discussion and target of mockery over a meal or tea with his peers. Yet, never in his imaginations would he expect his younger sister to choose to acknowledge him as her teacher!

If the other students were to be informed of it, wouldn’t he become a laughingstock?

The more he thought about it, the more angry Wang Tao became. He walked towards the entrance of the classroom and spotted Yao Han, who was wrapped like a mummy.

“I see, it is young master Wang Tao!”

As the butler of Baiyu City Lord Residence, Yao Han had come into contact with many different powers. Given that Wang Tao was a talented genius and the son of the head of the Wang family, it was natural for Yao Han to be aware of his existence.

“You are…” Glancing at him, Wang Tao’s eyebrows shot up.

After getting beaten up so savagely, not a single hint of his original appearance remained. Even Zhao Ya found it hard to recognize him in his current state, needless to say, Wang Tao.

“I am Yao Han from Baiyu City!” Yao Han said.

“Oh, so you are butler Yao. Why are you…” Wang Tao was slightly taken aback.

“I accidentally injured myself in the midst of training…” Yao Han explained awkwardly before changing the topic, “May I ask what young master Wang Tao is here for?”

“My younger sister has acknowledged Zhang Xuan as her teacher. I am here to take her back, as well as to teach the arrogant teacher a lesson!” Wang Tao didn’t even try to conceal his rage.

“Ah? Your younger sister? You mean Wang Ying xiaojie [1]?”

Yao Han was driven out of the classroom right shortly after he entered it. Furthermore, his attention was focused on Zhang Xuan the whole time, thus, he didn’t notice Wang Ying’s presence.

Wang Tao nodded his head.

“I have heard that Wang Ying xiaojie‘s talent is in no way inferior to yours. Why would she choose him?” Yao Han was puzzled.

“My younger sister rarely comes into contact with the outside world and has an innocent personality. That fellow has a glib tongue and I’m not sure what the fellow said, but my younger sister actually believed the nonsense he spouted!” Recalling what Old Liu told him, fury flared from Wang Tao.

“How vile! That fellow is a scourge, the scum among the teachers!” Upon recalling how the young mistress of his family had fallen for his deception as well, he gritted his teeth angrily, “Young master Wang Tao, you have to teach that fellow a lesson!”

“Un!” Wang Tao replied. At the same time, he stared at him doubtfully, “Right, butler Yao, why are you here?”

“Let’s not talk about it. The more I talk about it, the angrier I get. Our young mistress had also fallen for the deceitful words of Zhang Xuan and acknowledged him as her teacher!” Yao Han scoffed.

“You mean Zhao Ya xiaojie?” Wang Tao was taken aback.

“Yes!” Yao Han nodded his head.

“Then… why don’t you barge in and expose that hypocritical fellow? Why are you waiting at the entrance instead?” Wang Tao was bewildered.

“I wanted to expose that fellow, but our young mistress got agitated. I had no choice but to wait outside. Young master Wang Tao, you came at a perfect timing. If you were to go in now, teach that shameless fellow a lesson and expose his ugly intentions, our young mistress would be able to see his true colors!”

Yao Han said.

“Rest assured, I will be exposing his fraud now. I will make sure that shameless fellow reveals his despicable self!”

Wang Tao gritted his teeth and nodded his head. Then, he kicked the door open and walked in with widened strides.

………………………………

On the other hand, Zhang Xuan had finally gone through the individual situations of his five students with them.

There were quite a few flaws with Zheng Yang’s spear. Zhang Xuan elaborated on them slightly, causing Zheng Yang’s strength to soar once again and the latter rejoiced over his improvement.

On the other hand, Yuan Tao had never cultivated a proper cultivation technique or battle technique. Zhang Xuan took out the academy’s basic Hongtian Nine Dan Formula’s 1-dan formula and modified it slightly before passing it to him.

He didn’t modify much of it, so there was still a large gap between it and the Heaven’s Path Divine Art that he was currently cultivating with. Even so, it was still several times more effective than the original Hongtian Nine Dan Formula. With just one look, Yuan Tao almost leapt up from the joy rushing through him, overjoyed to realize that he had acknowledged an accomplished teacher.

“Alright, I have roughly gone through the problems you all have on you. You all need to persevere in your training…”

Returning back to the classroom, Zhang Xuan gathered all five of his students together and was explaining the situation to them when boom, the door to the classroom was kicked open. Following which, a furious howl echoed in the room, “Zhang Xuan, withdraw my younger sister and Zhao Ya xiaojie from your lessons right now. Otherwise, I will make you will suffer!”

Following which, Wang Tao rushed in and stood furiously before Zhang Xuan. His eyes were dyed crimson red, as though he was ready to murder someone.

“Big brother…”

Seeing her elder brother in such a state, Wang Ying was shocked and immediately rushed forward.

“Don’t interfere in this!” He pushed his younger sister to his back before staring coldly at Zhang Xuan. With a haughty expression, he said, “Zhang Xuan, it is one thing if you use your nonsense to deceive others, but to think that you would dare to coax my younger sister with lies. You are seeking death! I will give you ten seconds. If you withdraw my younger sister and Zhao Ya xiaojie from your tutelage now, I can let this slip. If not, even if you are a teacher, don’t blame me for not going easy on you!”

Boom!

With a scornful look, Wang Tao released his full strength, revealing a very powerful aura.

He had reached the level of a Fighter 4-dan Pigu realm!

No wonder he could become a disciple of an elder. This strength was in no way weaker than an average teacher of the academy.

“I am conducting lessons right now, get out!” Zhang Xuan looked at him blandly.

“Conducting lessons? With your standard, what could you possibly be teaching!” Wang Tao mocked him coldly. “Get out? You want me to get out? Who do you think you are? The only reason why I call you a teacher is out of basic respect. Look at how you are, are you not aware of it? You are only a lowly teacher who is still in zhenqi realm, don’t act like you are a big shot before me. Even if I were to beat you up today, the most that would happen is a reprimand by the elders. What can you possibly do to me?”

He wasn’t wrong. There were quite a few disciples of the elders in the academy who were stronger than the teachers and held esteemed positions in the academy. Even if a conflict were to break out between them and the teachers, the most they would do was to reprimand them slightly, there wouldn’t be any severe punishments.

“Big brother…” Wang Ying’s face paled.

She was very aware of the fact whether the teacher before her had standards or not. When all of the expert physicians in the entire Tianxuan Kingdom could do nothing about her problem, he was able to solve it casually. How could such a person possibly have no standards at all?

Just as he was about to stop that rash elder brother of hers, the face of her teacher darkened and his eyes narrowed.

“Scram!”

“To ask me to scram…” He didn’t expect that the trash of a teacher would get him to scram. Just as he was about to continue speaking, he caught a glimpse of the cold gaze of the other party.

Looking into his eyes, Wang Tao shivered uncontrollably, as though he was a rabbit who had caught the gaze of a tiger. Under the oppression of a powerful aura, he retreated a few steps subconsciously and his legs trembled.

He had only felt such sharp aura from his master. How could it possibly appear on the academy’s worst teacher, a fellow who was just Fighter 3-dan Zhenqi realm?

It took a moment before Wang Tao regained his composure. In that instant, Wang Tao’s face darkened like an ant’s nest as his eyes took on a deep shade of red.

In his eyes, even though Zhang Xuan was a teacher, he was not any more than a trash. Yet, this trash dared to shout at him and cause him to retreat out of fear. If this were to spread out… How could he possibly face any other people? How would he be able to maintain his prestige?

“You are courting death!”

Feeling humiliated, Wang Tao roared and with a flick of his hand, the sword on his waist had been drawn.

Hu!

The sword stabbed out in a flash.

Pah pah pah!

At Fighter 4-dan Pigu realm, one would possess strength beyond 500kg. Even before the sword reached him, the continuous sound generated from the friction between the sword and the wind created an oppressing atmosphere, as though it would be impossible to counter the attack.

“Zhang laoshi…”

Seeing her elder brother striking out with such speed, Wang Ying’s face turns ghastly white.

Although she was impressed by the guidance of Zhang laoshi, she was well aware of the fact that the teacher before her was only at Fighter 3-dan. He was far from a match for her brother!

It was impossible for him to dodge the blow, he would definitely be injured!

Frightened, she shrieked in fear and closed her eyes subconsciously.

“How… How could this be possible?”

Just when she thought that the Zhang laoshi who just resolved her problem for her would be wounded by the sword, she heard voices of disbelief from Zhao Ya and the others. She quickly opened her eyes to take a look and her eyeballs almost popped out from their sockets. She petrified on the spot.

She saw her elder brother’s incomparably powerful and mighty slash getting stopped in midair and what was stopping it was the two seemingly weak fingers of Zhang Xuan laoshi.

To block such a powerful blow with just… the pinching of two fingers!

Library of Heaven's Path

Library of Heaven's Path - Chapter 22: The Reason Behind Zhao Ya's Illness

Liu Yang might have been guided by Zhang Xuan previously, but he didn’t believe that the latter was capable. Rather, he thought that Zhang Xuan simply got lucky.

After all, asking someone to use a different hand to execute a punching routine didn’t involve much skill.

Thus, from the depths of his heart, he still looked down on the teacher in front of him.

“Teacher!”

Walking into the room, he cupped his hand and bowed slightly to Zhang Xuan, although his tone wasn’t very respectful.

“I have seen you execute your battle techniques before!”

Seemingly oblivious to his disrespect, Zhang Xuan continued, “To be able to train Soaring Flower Fist to the rookie level and Dragon Inch Fist to the expert level, not bad!”

“What? You… How did you know that I am trained in… Dragon Inch Fist?”

Hearing those words, Liu Yang who was disregarding Zhang Xuan almost fainted from shock.

Logically, due to his weak strength, he should have focused on his cultivation technique. Even if he had to learn battle technique, he should have practiced a normal battle technique such as Soaring Flower Fist instead of Dragon Inch Fist!

Dragon Inch Fist, being a mortal lower-tier battle technique, was much more formidable than the Soaring Flower Fist!

In order to become stronger, he hid the fact that he was practicing this punch routine from his family members!

Ever since his Dragon Inch Fist reached rookie level, he had never executed it in front of anyone else. Previously, the battle technique which he showed Zhang Xuan was the Soaring Flower Fist. Yet, Zhang Xuan was able to tell that he practiced the Dragon Inch Fist and that it was at the expert level…

How could he tell?

“There are shadows of the Dragon Inch Fist in your Soaring Flower Fist!” Naturally, Zhang Xuan couldn’t possibly reveal that it was due to the Library of Heaven’s Path. He didn’t even blink when telling an outright lie.

“You can even tell from that…” Liu Yang was still in a state of disbelief.

The two skills weren’t even in the slightest related to one another. Previously, he also executed the Soaring Flower Fist in front of Cao Xiong laoshi, but he wasn’t able to tell that much from it. Yet, the academy’s worst teacher was able to see through it with one glance. Was this for real?

While he was still holding doubts in his heart, the teacher sitting before him continued.

“Reaching the level of an expert, your Dragon Inch Fist holds considerable might. However, do you feel an ache under your armpits and an itch in your jianjin [1] acupoint whenever you execute it?”

“This, this…”

Taking a few steps back, Liu Yang looked as though he has seen a ghost, fear appearing within his eyes.

Not only were the words of the other party correct, they were exactly spot-on!

It was as though he had seen him training.

“You… How did you know?” Liu Yang couldn’t help but ask with a pale face.

“It is very simple, you have been practicing an inappropriate battle technique! If you continue training at this rate, I can guarantee that the muscles of your entire arm will be destroyed within three years. Even immortals will find it hard to save you! In fact, the effects are already apparent now. Do you feel your body going stiff when you are sleeping at night, sometimes even spasming?”

Zhang Xuan questioned.

“I…”

Liu Yang trembled.

Indeed, he had such a condition. Just that, he thought it was due to over exhaustion from excessive training, so he didn’t pay it much heed. Never in his dreams would he imagine that it was due to him practicing the Dragon Inch Fist!

“Dragon Inch Fist, it is a skill which regards one’s body like a dragon and emphasizes the concept of might in every inch of your body. If you had reached Fighter 4-dan Pigu realm and had zhenqi nourish your muscles, there won’t be any side effects from cultivating this battle technique. However, you are only in Juxi realm and your body is far too weak! Forcefully cultivating this battle technique will only cause your body to be injured. As time passes, the injury will only worsen! This is also the reason why although you aren’t left-handed, your left hand possess significantly greater strength than your right hand! That is because you practiced the Dragon Inch Fist with your right, causing great damage to it. If you don’t stop now, you will become crippled!”

Zhang Xuan warned.

“Teacher, save me…”

At this moment, Liu Yang no longer possessed the arrogance he had when he first walked in. His knees weakened and he kneeled to the floor.

At this moment, he understood that the teacher before him was definitely an expert, a master among experts!

That was because everything Zhang Xuan said fitted perfectly with what was happening to him. If Zhang Xuan didn’t voice it out, Liu Yang wouldn’t have paid much attention to it. However, now that he had stated all of it out clearly and logically, Liu Yang immediately understood that everything he said is true.

In the face of such an expert, what rights did he have to remain arrogant?

It was laughable that he thought that he felt wronged for acknowledging him as his teacher…

Only now did he realize how fortunate he was!

Before acknowledging Cao Xiong, he had also met quite a few notable teachers in the academy and displayed his battle technique before them. However, they were unable to tell that he was trained in the Dragon Inch Fist, needless to say, seeing through the fact that his right arm was injured!

“First, stop training in the Dragon Inch Fist and try your best to raise your cultivation. As for the injury that you have sustained and accumulated, I will think of an idea to solve it!” Zhang Xuan declared. “Alright, call Zhao Ya in!”

“Yes!” Liu Yang nodded his head hurriedly. Not daring to say anything further, he quickly walked out.

The moment he walked out, he saw Zheng Yang, Zhao Ya and Yuan Tao staring at him.

“Have you withdrawn from Zhang Xuan laoshi‘s tutelage?” Yuan Tao asked in agitation.

“Withdraw? Why should I withdraw?” Liu Yang waved his hand and declared proudly, his face not turning red in the slightest. “He who teaches me for one day is my father for life. I, Liu Yang, will not withdraw from Zhang Xuan laoshi‘s lessons. What kind of person do you think I am? Do I look like that casual of a person? I really don’t know what you all are thinking, to be thinking about withdrawing all day along. Aren’t you all embarrassed?”

“…” Zheng Yang, Zhao Ya and Yuan Tao.

[Shameless. He is too shameless!

Just a moment ago, he was still going on about how determined he was to withdraw from Zhang Xuan’s lessons. Yet, in the blink of an eye, he changed his words entirely. Exactly how thick is his skin?!]

……

“That teacher is probably… truly capable!” Seeing the vastly different attitudes between the two when they went in and came out, Zhao Ya thought in her mind as she pushed the door open.

Actually, after hearing Uncle Yao Han’s words, it wasn’t like she never wavered in her determination. However, the truth still stood that the other party was able to point out her ‘illness’ accurately, giving her hope for a cure.

After all, she was too embarrassed to speak of this illness in front of others, so it was impossible for her to reveal it to too many people.

“Sit down!”

Upon walking into the room, she saw Zhang laoshi and sat down.

“Teacher, you said that… you can cure my illness…” Zhao Ya reddened.

“Un!” Zhang Xuan nodded his head. “Your illness is an easy problem…”

Actually, it wasn’t very difficult to solve Zhao Ya’s problem. She wasn’t really sick but rather, she possessed the Pure Yin Body, a physical body which countless women desired. The yin energy in her body was overpowering and if it was directed correctly, her cultivation would soar rapidly!

However, it was a pity that no one in Baiyu City noticed it and even chose a yin-nature cultivation technique for her!

For the other females, it was indeed quite a good manual to cultivate. However, for Zhao Ya, who possessed a Pure Yin Body, to cultivate such a cultivation technique, it was simply worsening the situation for her.

The yin energy in her body accumulated gradually over time. When she was younger, it was still undetectable. However, as her body developed, the unique traits of a female became apparent and she would start to find it hard to suppress her urges. If she wasn’t cured in time and continued on this way, she might become a being possessed by her lust and find it hard to satisfy her desires no matter how hard she tried.

This was precisely the reason why such an awkward situation was occurring to her.

“This…” Zhao Ya was taken aback.

She didn’t know that she possessed a Pure Yin Body. In fact, even her father was oblivious to the fact.

However, the part about her cultivating a pure yin cultivation technique was true!

Was this really the cause?

“White Jade Pure Maiden Skill, it is an impressive skill, but it isn’t suited for you. If you want to solve this problem at its roots, you have to find another new cultivation technique!” After explaining the situation, Zhang Xuan stated.

“You… How did you know that I cultivate the White Jade Pure Maiden Skill?” Zhao Ya was taken aback.

This cultivation technique had been passed down in the Baiyu City. Other than the Bai family, there were very few people who were aware of it. Even the butler Yao Han, who was at the entrance of the classroom now, wasn’t too sure about it. Yet, the teacher before her was able to point it out instantly. Zhao Ya was in a state of disbelief.

“If I am capable of seeing through illness, naturally, I would be able to see through your cultivation technique as well!” Zhang Xuan tilted his head forty-five degree as he assumed the look of an expert whose depth couldn’t be seen.

“Cultivating a new cultivation technique can solve the problem? Then… What kind of cultivation technique should I cultivate?” Suppressing the astonishment in her mind forcefully, Zhao Ya asked.

“You should find a cultivation technique capable of unleashing the potential of your body, and not one that accumulates yin energy! How about this, I will go to the academy’s Compendium Pavilion to take a look for you to see if there are any suitable ones for you!”

Zhang Xuan said.

“Thank you, teacher!” Zhao Ya nodded her head hurriedly.

The problem hadn’t been solved yet, but at the very least, she was aware of the cause now. A surge of exhilaration gushed through her heart.

“Un!” Zhang Xuan waved his hands to show that it was a small matter. “Call Zheng Yang in!”

While Zhang Xuan was providing pointers to his students in the room, outside the classroom, a tall youth walked over in widened strides.

“Elder Liu, is what you said true?”

As the tall youth walked, he questioned the elderly following him behind.

“Young master, that is the truth. Young mistress has acknowledged Zhang Xuan as her master!”

Old Liu nodded his head quickly.

If Zhang Xuan was here, he would definitely be able to recognize that the Old Liu here was the person who tried to withdraw Wang Ying from his lessons yesterday.

The person whom he called young master should be Wang Ying’s elder brother, the genius of Hongtian Academy, the disciple of an elder, Wang Tao!

“Zhang Xuan? The teacher who scored a zero for his Teacher Qualification Examination? What rights does he have to teach my younger sister? Damn it! If I don’t teach him a lesson today to let him know the price for deceiving my younger sister, I will not call myself Wang Tao!”

As Wang Tao walked towards the classroom, he declared furiously.

Library of Heaven's Path - Chapter 21: Zephyr Acupuncture

Even though she had no problem walking normally with her leg injury, she faced great difficulty in her training. It felt as though poison had soaked into her bones. In the past half year, there didn’t seem to be a single day she spent in happiness.

Precisely so, she became the current her who was a little fearful towards strangers, as well as reticent.

Initially, she thought that her injury would stay with her for her entire life. Yet, she didn’t expect that the Zhang Xuan laoshi, whom everyone thought was trash, would say ‘It is a small matter!’. She found it hard to believe what her ears were hearing.

If it was a moment ago, she might have thought that Zhang Xuan was simply bragging. However, from the instant he pointed out the reason behind her injury, expectation started to well up in her.

“The reason why I had you to come into this room individually is to treat you! Alright, relax your entire body!”

Zhang Xuan retrieved a medium-sized jade box from the room and opened it gently. Within it lied numerous silver needles of different lengths.

During the training sessions of a martial artist, it was easy for one to incur injuries. Thus, the academy prepared a kit of such in every single classroom to help boost the blood circulation of the wounded, as well as to temporarily ease the injury.

“Yes!” Wang Ying listened to the voice of the young man, which was steadfast, confident but without a trace of arrogant, and replied. Somehow, Wang Ying trusted the man before her from the depths of her heart and her tense body relaxed.

Sou!

Sitting on his original spot without moving, he grabbed a silver needle and flicked it over.

A soft sound and the silver needle he infused with zhenqi shot tautly towards Wang Ying and pierced her leg.

“This is… Zephyr Acupuncture?” Wang Ying widened her eyes as her slim body trembled yet again.

Zephyr Acupuncture. It was a method which made use of a martial artist’s control over his strength to control the pathway of the silver needles to pierce the correct spots without coming into contact with the patient’s body.

In this way, a male physician would be able to apply acupuncture without coming into proximity to a female patient. This way, awkwardness between the two was able to be avoided.

Such a method of practicing acupuncture might seem simple, but it was actually incredibly complicated. Firstly, it required the martial artist to hold absolute control over his strength. If there was a slight imprecision, there was a high possibility that it would result in failure! Furthermore, one’s eyes must be sharp. It was difficult to recognise the exact acupoints beneath the patient’s clothes. If the physician were to recognise the acupuncture inaccurately, all kind of troubles could happen!

Master Yuanyu had once said that one must at least attain the cultivation level of Fighter 5-dan Dingli realm to practice Zephyr Acupuncture!

Had the teacher termed as trash in the academy reached such a level?

Impossible!

Those who have reached Dingli realm were all famous figures in the academy, such as the famous teacher Lu Xun. According to Liu laoshi, Zhang Xuan laoshi was only a Fighter 3-dan Zhenqi realm. There was still a huge way to go before he reached 5-dan Dingli realm!

A Fighter 3-dan Zhenqi realm was capable of executing Zephyr Acupuncture?

She found it unbelievable!

Sou sou sou sou!

While she was still in a state of disbelief, the young man flicked a few more silver needle towards her.

A few gusts of wind whipped up and the silver needles pierced into her leg with the exact same depth. This showed that the other party had already reached a rather advanced level of his control over his strength.

The silver needle pierced into the flesh of her leg. Just as Wang Ying was about to ask Zhang Xuan how he intended to treat her, his hand slid past the needle and the zhenqi that was contained in the needle activated and probed into her body.

“Ah…”

As the zhenqi entered her body, she felt a tingling sensation in her leg. The acupoint which was sealed previously immediately opened under the surge of the zhenqi.

“This… this… this is superior zhenqi?”

As the tingling sensation spread across her entire body, Wang Ying clearly ‘saw’ the look of the zhenqi in her body.

[Clear like water, deprived of any impurities.

This is… the quality that only superior zhenqi would possess!

Superior zhenqi?

That is something that can only be cultivated if one possesses a god or saint cultivation technique. In the entire Tianxuan Kingdom, it is unheard of for anyone to cultivate superior zhenqi. Yet, to think the lousiest teacher in the academy possessed it? It can’t be that I am seeing things…]

“Done!”

While she was still overwhelmed by shock, her body relaxed completely and slumped. By then, the silver needles had already been retrieved by the other party.

Following which, Wang Ying felt a surge of relaxation in her leg, a comfortable sensation which she had never experienced.

After her injury, although she was still able to move normally, her legs felt as though they have been plastered, plagued with a stiff sensation at all times. At this moment, wave after wave of pleasant sensation surged through her leg, as though it had broken through some shackles. Her leg felt incomparably nimble and lively.

“My leg…”

She might be slow-witted, but it was clear to see that the injury on her leg had been cured!

“Teacher, thank…”

Wang Ying’s knees slackened and she kneeled onto the floor. Her eyes were entirely red.

For this day, she had waited for a very long time. In fact, she even felt despair at her situation. Never in her dreams would she imagine that… such a stubborn illness would be cured by the academy’s worst teacher!

“It seems that the fact is that… He is a very capable person, just that he maintains a low profile…”

Such a thought popped into her head.

If he wasn’t intentionally maintaining a low profile, regardless of how his lessons were like, just the fact that he was able to cure her legs means that he was more than capable of building up his reputation in this academy. How else was it possible for him to be the last in the Teacher Qualification Examination?

With such a thought in mind, Wang Ying kneeled to the floor and acknowledged Zhang Xuan as her teacher from the depths of her heart. All thoughts of withdrawing from his tutelage were dispelled.

“Un, now that your leg injury has recovered, go out and train properly. If you have any other problems, come over and find me afterward!” Zhang Xuan gestured and entrusted her with a task, “By the way, call Liu Yang over!”

“Yes!” Wang Ying replied excitedly before walking out of the room.

………………………………

“I intend to withdraw from his lessons later, are any of you all with me?”

In the classroom, after Liu Yang, Zheng Yang, Zhao Ya and Yuan Tao had introduced themselves to one another, Liu Yang said.

To tell the truth, he felt extremely dispirited.

Scoring within the top hundred, there were many top teachers who were vying for him. Yet, in the end, due to the bet made between two teachers, he was lost to the worst teacher in the entire academy!

The intense feeling of being wronged made him go into a frenzy.

[No matter what, I have to withdraw from his lessons today. Even if it means that I have to withdraw from the school… No one will be able to halt my footsteps!]

“I… also want to withdraw from his lessons. But if Zhang Xuan laoshi were to be angered, it is hard to tell what he might do!” Fatty Yuan Tao couldn’t resist saying.

“Angry? Hmph, so what if he is angry? What can he do? I don’t want to go berserk from his misguidance!” Liu Yang scoffed.

“Berserk?” Zheng Yang looked over doubtfully.

He only knew that the teacher before him scored badly for the Teacher Qualification Examination, being the last of the lot. He had never heard of the incident of a student going berserk from his guidance.

“Un!” Liu Yang continued, “If you don’t believe it, just wait and see. When Wang Ying walks out later, her face will surely be awful! She will feel like she has been scammed! I have already long heard of Zhang Xuan laoshi‘s teaching standards. If he was able to offer proper pointers, he wouldn’t have landed in such a state, being viewed in contempt by the other teachers…”

Jiyaaa!

Just as they were speaking, the door opened and Wang Ying walked out with an excited look.

“Un?”

Liu Yang was taken aback. Initially, he thought that she would be depressed, yet contrary to his expectations, she was smiling happily.

The other few students were also puzzled.

That joy came from the depths of her heart. She must have reaped some great rewards for such an expression to appear.

Could it be that the teacher with such a horrible reputation could give proper pointers?

To get a student to be so excited in just a single session, as though she had attained some precious treasure, probably even the famous Lu Xun laoshi wasn’t capable of such a feat!

“Liu Yang, teacher called for you to enter!” Oblivious to what the others were thinking, Wang Ying informed him before going to one corner to start training.

“Me?” Liu Yang clenched his jaw. “I would like to see what pointers you are able to offer me! If you can’t offer me any good pointers, I will withdraw from your lessons!”

Muttering silently in his heart, he walked into the room.
