"Why are you doing this?" Lord Chu asked, clearly confused, as he sucked on the berry.

"Is it nice?" Chu Yu smiled.

"Mm, yummy!" Lord Chu nodded vigorously, "A pity you didn’t get to try it, it’s really yummy!"

Chu Yu could tell that the emotional fluctuations of the man hiding in the dark were getting stronger and stronger.

If he didn’t eat the leaf of the Thorny Chinese Flowering Apple, he would not have known about that man’s presence... unless he used his vertical eye to survey his surroundings.

That man was at least in the advanced stages of the Xiantian Realm!

Lord Chu scratched his head, unable to react.

However, he knew that Chu Yu had always been a little cryptic. Even when he did not understand it, he knew just to play along.

"That was something you did when you were so much younger, I didn’t know that you still played with leaves." Lord Chu scratched his head.

Chu Yu thought to himself, Good! Anyone who thinks that Lord Chu is dumb is an idiot themselves!

"Nope, I’ve collected thousands of leaves in the past few years!" Chu Yu said solemnly.

"I... I think I am breaking through!" Lord Chu exclaimed suddenly.

As he spoke, he sat on his heels and began to cultivate.

"..." Chu Yu was speechless. He regretted not giving Lord Chu the fruit only when they returned.

The effectiveness of the Thorny Chinese Flowering Apple leaf had all but disappeared and he was no longer able to sense the emotions of the hidden individual.

He knew the person’s location, but he did not look straight at him. He had suffered once because of that before.

The man hiding was an aged man wearing a green robe.

Chu Yu scanned by quickly. He could see that the man was in his sixties or seventies. He sat atop an ancient tree, almost blending into it as one.

With a single glance, he could see that the man’s expression betrayed his unhappiness.

It was probably because the berry had been eaten by Lord Chu.

Chu Yu acted as if nothing was amiss as he continued to protect Lord Chu.

However, his vertical eye was still scanning this anomalous area!

Finally, at a location about three to four miles from the aged man, there was a slight anomaly by the river bank.

There was a huge pile of rocks. They were all ashen white, and came in various sizes.

The largest was over a foot high!

There was a thick, saturated ball of energy under the largest rock.

It was quite similar to the magical formations found at Celestial Fox Immortal Cave and the Ruins of the Pile of Three Stars.

The Xiantian cultivator could not help but plead in a desperate attempt to preserve his life.

However, before he could finish, Lord Chu brought the blade down on his head and split it in two.

Lord Chu was disgusted. He pinched his mouth, "How disgusting!"

He then turned to look at Chu Yu, his face full of concern, "How are you?"

"I won't die, brother, bring that scepter over."

Lord Chu’s mouth twitched. He found it slightly disgusting, but went over anyways. He picked up the scepter and played around with it for a little bit, "This is not bad!"

He came to Chu Yu’s side and took out his medication. He dressed Chu Yu’s wound, then gave Chu Yu a few healing medicinal tablets.

Lord Chu was reproaching himself, "This is all my fault, if not for me, we won’t be here. If we weren’t here, you wouldn’t be hurt, this is all my fault..."

Chu Yu heard his self reproach, and he said rather breathlessly, "Brother, do you know Lu Xun?"

"Of course I do, he was a huge academic over a century ago... why do you ask?" Lord Chu replied curiously.

"Under Lu Xun’s tutelage, there is a man known as Xiang Linsao..." Chu Yu said feebly.

Lord Chu scratched his head and mulled over it, but was still confused. He frowned, "What about that guy?"

"Nothing nothing, but that poor kid was taken by wolves." Chu Yu was emotionless as he began to use his techniques to recover, ignoring Lord Chu.

His chest had a gaping hole, and his injuries were severe.

However, in the Invigorated Meridian Realm, the body’s healing ability was much stronger.

After some time cultivating, even though his injuries were still heavy, he regained his ability to walk.

He stood up. Seeing that Lord Chu was still extremely depressed over it, Chu Yu smiled and pat him on the shoulder.

Lord Chu was tall. Even though Chu Yu wasn’t short, he had to tiptoe in order to do that.

"These things are normal, you really don’t have to blame yourself."

Lord Chu shook his head, his expression stern, "If only I was slightly better, slightly stronger, then I could have helped you just now..."

"You can definitely do so in the future!" Chu Yu replied.

Lord Chu nodded vigorously, "Last time, I did not think that cultivating to a higher stage had much use other than extending one’s life. Now I understand, being stronger and more powerful allows you to protect those close to you."

Lord Chu looked at Chu Yu and smiled, "There was a huge snake guarding this small tree. That serpent was difficult to kill, and I was almost killed in the process. I was hungry and thirsty, so I plucked one of the berries to eat, then guess what happened?"

Chu Yu looked at Lord Chu, completely speechless, since when was his cousin so talkative?

What was there to guess, he clearly ate a berry that greatly increased his ability... wasn’t this how the story was written?

This talkative nature of Lord Chu was only activated when in front of Chu Yu.

In front of others, he was a man of few words.

Lord Chu brought Chu Yu to the plot of land where they spotted the small tree.

The tree was brown in color. It’s branches hung with a few jade green leaves. I single red berry, the size of an infant’s fist, hung from the branch.

The berry released a strong aroma which could be smelt from several meters away.

Chu Yu could see that below the berry was the corpse of a huge serpent. The serpent was extremely thick, and all the its life was gone, but it still radiated with cold, suppressive aura.

Lord Chu said rather contentedly, "I left this guy here on purpose in order to scare away animals who have thoughts about eating the berry."

Chu Yu frowned, his gaze falling on the leaves of this small tree.

This tree reminded him of one of those mentioned in the Immortal Crane Pill Scripture.

This tree was known as Thorny Chinese Flowering Apple, it bore fruit once every century, and would bear five fruits at a time.

The crimson fruits were like red jade and had a large amount of spiritual energy, allowing people who ate it to have massive gains in power.

However, the most valuable part of the tree was not the fruit, but the leaves!

The Thorny Chinese Flowering Apple only grew a single leaf every 500 years!

Chu Yu did a rough count, counting at least 40 jade green leaves.

This meant that the Thorny Chinese Flowering Apple in front of him was more than 20000 years old!

Limitless - Chapter 98: Fighting the Xiantian

Chu Yu and Lord Chu headed north after leaving the Chu Clan premises.

Lord Chu seemed to want to test Chu Yu’s abilities. The moment they left the premises, he began sprinting. He shot forward like an arrow and disappeared from his original position in the blink of an eye.

Chu Yu chuckled and kept up with him.

He only stopped after running for more than half an hour.

He surveyed the surroundings, then whispered to Chu Yu, "It’s just ahead, no more than 10 miles."

Just as the two men approached the area, Chu Yu’s expression changed instantly and he yanked Lord Chu backwards.

An unbelievably fast arrow brushed by Lord Chu’s face.

Only then did an icy sound echo through the air.

This arrow impacted a huge tree some distance away. Its thick trunk was instantly broken into two!

After an earth shattering sound echoed out, the tree crashed to the ground.

It startled flocks of birds and a whole nest of insects.

At this point, a second arrow... was fired straight at them!

The opponent was good, the second arrow was aimed at Chu Yu, but it had predicted his possible dodges.

If Chu Yu had moved in the same way he yanked back Lord Chu, the arrow would have hit.

However, Chu Yu did not move.

This arrow brushed by Chu Yu’s face and disappeared into the dense forest.

A huge gust of wind blew Chu Yu’s hair around.

Chu Yu’s expression was icy, and a wave of killing intent flashed by his forehead.

"You’re not done huh?" Chu Yu said icily, as he lunged in the direction of the arrow like a hunting tiger.

The third arrow... was fired at Chu Yu’s face once again!

Chu Yu bellowed and raised his hand to grab the arrow!

Some distance away, an exquisitely pretty lady smiled coldly.

She said flatly, "Courting death!"

She could not belief that the man in front of her had the ability to catch her arrow.

That arrow flew straight towards Chu Yu’s face.

Zoom!

The sound of the arrow pierced through the air.

This was a genuine killing arrow.

In an instant, Chu Yu harnessed all the energy in his body and channeled it into his left arm.

Pa!

Chu Yu grabbed the arrow out of the sky!

The sharp arrowhead was mere millimeters from Chu Yu’s forehead!

Chu Yu felt a burning sensation in his hand.

The lady was suspended from the tree, her legs dangling, screaming in pain.

This sound broke the silence in the forest, scaring countless animals.

After she screamed, she continued to struggle, trying to remove the arrow from her body. However, the pain prevented her from doing anything. She continued to scream, tears and snot filling up her face.

Hum!

The entire forest was suddenly filled by a terrifying hum.

Then, a figure charged towards Chu Yu and unimaginable speeds!

He held a long blade in his hand, and began slashing at Chu Yu from a large distance away!

A ray of icy blade aura was sent flying towards Chu Yu!

Everything that the aura passed through... was sliced cleanly in half.

Even the large ancient trees and giant rocks were split into 2.

A deep valley was cut right in the middle of the mountain!

This was no martial art, this was sacred art!

The approaching individual... was a Xiantian Realm cultivator!

The blade aura was fast and ferocious!

Chu Yu had trouble avoiding the aura. It brushed past his body and took off some of the skin on his arm.

Blood flowed out of the wound.

Chu Yu’s eyes flashed with a wave of anger as he silently held the Spirit Stunning Bow in hand.

The palm sized bow would not attract any attention if one did not pay attention.

At the same time, Chu Yu’s figure dashed towards the opponent.

He twisted his bleeding left arm, pulled it back, then... punched viciously at the figure ahead!

The figure deftly dodged it like a phantom.

At this point, the Spirit Stunning Bow in Chu Yu’s right hand... activated!

Boom!

A huge cavity of blood appeared suddenly on the Xiantian cultivator’s chest.

He grunted, then retreated slightly.

This was not the first time Chu Yu used the Spirit Stunning Bow, and he had learnt some of the rules pertaining to its use.
