The Ancient Dragon Battlefield, an unusual realm situated within an enclosed space for many eons. It is a bizarre world filled with the thick scent of death that lingered at each of its distant corners.
This realm is divided into an assortment of layers, each of which was categorized by their degree of hazards. These layers are:
The Outer Regions, the Interior Regions, and the Central Regions...
Within each region were a group of occupied territories called 'Zones,' these Zones were each under the leadership of a very powerful fiendkin who typically had a powerful troop of fiends under their command. They are known as 'Zone Commanders,' each having a specialty or unique trait of their own making them terrifying opponents to face not only in one to one battle but also on the battlefield.
However, apart from these zones within each of the layers, there were also a few mysterious and unusual places each with a secret of their own.

Area unknown, Zone unknown.
The sky looked bright as a graceful golden light shone across the horizon, dying the world with its hue.
Blanketed by these rays of light, was a seemingly endless mountain range. A divine place filled with an array of unusual sightings along with a myriad of wonderous constructs crafted by nature. These mountains were uncommon as they floated in mid-air, they gave off a holy aura the kind that would only be found in religious sects, as elaborate carvings could also be seen engraved on their surface.
Looking at the surroundings, one would see that amidst this sea of unusual mountains were floating land masses, each of them being hundreds of thousands of kilometers wide. They were connected to each other by rays of light that beamed between the sea of floating mountains falling on top of a profound looking formation on a section of each of their lands.
If one looked bellow these land masses, they would see a lake, a vast clear lake that spanned across the entire horizon. This lake was strange, as despite being clear its depths could not be seen. Instead, only a few clusters of sparkling lights could be seen shining brightly ever so often at its core.
Standing proudly on the surface of these lands where an assortment of different buildings, each constructed with a unique style. These buildings were built like towers, each being at a height no lower than a kilometer. A collection of circular rings surrounded these tower-like buildings each giving off an odd pulsation of energies sending ripples throughout the land.
Carefully looking, one would see troops of well-equipped humanoid and non-humanoid forms each giving off a dense baleful aura, they stood in well-trained formations around tower-like buildings positioned at the core of these landmasses. At the central location of each of these floating mountains and lands, was an even larger floating landmass that spanned a width of no less than one million kilometers.
However, unlike its successors, this massive land mass did not have any glorious looking troops and a large number of buildings. Instead, positioned at its core was only a single tower that stretched to limits of this realm's sky, seated in front of this tower was an unknown being that was as large as most of the land itself. It was equipped with unique armor as it sat while gazing towards the brilliant light shining from the distant horizon. A bright ray shone at the depths of its eyes as if it could see the end of the world...
Inside of the central landmass tower, within a huge and spacious room.
A beautiful figure of a woman could be seen seated on top of a large golden throne. If one were to describe her beauty with words it would do no service as this kind of beauty needs no words. It was a pity however, for this unparallel beautiful woman currently had a sad expression her face, as she looked towards the massive window at the edge of the room gazing at the same location as the being outside of the tower.
Bellow this beauty was a group of powerful looking individuals each of whom bowed their heads in silence as the beauty remained in her state of thought.
"So, once again it has begun. Sigh, how long must I continue to wait for these cycles to finish? How long must I, drown in this sea of endless remorse?" Thought the beautiful figure, as her eyes glowed with a sad reminiscent light.
Quickly though, she recovered from her current mood and removed her gaze from the horizon focusing on the group that remained silent before her. With a sharp and cold look on her face, her lips parted as she spoke, "Make the preparations, this era's trials will now commence!"
"By the Queen's will!" The group of individuals replied, as they then tap their feet onto the floor which created an odd pulsation for a short moment of time.
Swiii! With a flash of bright golden light, the figures then vanished as if they didn't exist, to begin with, the beautiful woman seeing this looked on indifferently for a short while before closing her eyes.
However, the very moment she closed her eyes her beautiful nose couldn't help but twitch slightly, with a puzzled expression she opened her eyes.
Sniff. Sniff. After taking two more whiffs, she knitted her brows as she looked towards a different location across this endless horizon and spoke softly, "How strange... this 'scent,' it's been too long since I've smelled this fragrance, but why? Why is the scent of a Dragonkin still in this world?"
As she spoke, her voice trailed off into the wind traveling across the endless horizon as if seeking the source of her concerns.

Zap! The rumbling sound of thunder echoed throughout the world, as a dark looking palace stood aloof at the peak of a narrow mountain.
Chaaaaaaa! As the harsh rains continued to fall upon the lands, this palace remained steady unphased by the pouring rain. If one looked carefully, they would see a transparent dome of water the covered the castle entirety. This water dome was almost invisible due to its thinness; however, despite this weak looking appearance, it was quite the force to be reckoned with.
"Kaaaaaah!" Following a loud cry, a fierce bird the likes of which had never been seen by the eyes of common man descended with full momentum towards this dark palace at the peak of the mountains. It was a large dark crow with a purple crown on its head, with an enormous wingspan of 500 meters.
As they saw this crow descend, a look of surprise came over the face of the fiend guards. However, their look of shock soon became that of a sneer. Seeing their expressions, a cold purple light shone at the depths of crow's eyes; it promptly stretched its claws out towards the dark palace.
Swoosh! The harsh rain could not block these winds, as a fierce gale formed due to its rapid assault.
BOOM! The water-like dome quickly acted by forcing a series of blue layers to resist the claws, as they both collided a loud explosion soon followed, where after a terrifying shock spread across the region for hundreds of meters.
The harsh rain that fell upon the land was instantly calmed as the shockwave temporarily pushed aside the rain.
Swoosh--Bang! "Kaaaah!" The mournful cry of crow resounded throughout the region as it was blown away through the air, soon after crashing into a distant mountain. It looked at the dark palace with a hateful but now cautious expression, as it flapped its injured wings and circled the ruined mountain.
"Haha! When will the Sky Zone Commander learn, sending an Empyrean Dark Crow will not be enough to probe our barriers true strength. Tsk-tsk! A pity, if it had attacked the core we'd be eating a new feast today," A strange looking blue-skinned humanoid said, he was dressed in full plated dark armor that had sizeable spiky shoulder pads. He also wore a blue helmet which had two horns protruding from its sides.
Another similarly looking figure hearing his comrade's words also spoke, "Em. But, it's not like we haven't had anything good to eat recently."
The previously speaking fiend guard replied, "Bah! Like I even give a damn about food. I'm booored! Guarding this place yields no merits and all those guys on the frontlines are their hogging away all those points."
"Quiet!" A voice said as if it controlled the forces in the world a heavy pressure soon fell upon the two guards.
"Leader, please forgive this one's indiscretion!" Both guards replied as they promptly kneeled to the ground and begged for forgiveness.
The guard leader hearing this frowned for a moment before waving his hand, as they saw this, the two guards quickly got up and returned to their stations. The guard leader then looked towards the palace behind him and spoke mockingly, "Hmph! These two fools only talk about opportunities but have no idea about how battlefield truly is..."
As he said this, he couldn't help but shake his head as he continued to patrol the area.
Inside of the dark palace, within its central room.
In sharp contrast to its outside, the interior of this room was resplendent. A variety of large blue crystals surrounded the area, with walls that were made of unknown refractive materials as a clean, brilliant blue hue covered all corners of this room.
A group of blue-skinned individuals wearing various types of powerful looking equipment stood calmly around a large ball of water. This ball was strange as it acted as if it had a life of its own, rotating in a clockwise manner as it would occasionally release a few orbs of water. These orbs would then travel to the ears of everyone where after transforming into faces that whispered to the ears.
After these faces made of water finished their words, they then traveled back to the water ball and merged with its whole. The seated individuals now looked at each other with a variety of expressions; a few had looks of excitement while a few others revealed calm, pensive expressions.
"Speak!" A voice that reverberated throughout the room said, as the individuals heard it they became solemn. They looked towards a nearby water fountain positioned at the middle wall of the room, it was a large fountain more than fifty meters wide and ten meters tall.
A pair of dark blue arms with strange markings could be seen around its edges as the back of a figure could be noticed, he calmly rested inside of this water fountain as if it were a 'bathtub.' As his long cyan-blue hair fell down the edges of the fountain reaching all the way to the shining floor.
"Yes, lord Rain Commander!" A trembling replied, as he promptly walked over and bowed before the figure lying in the water fountain.
"We have received reports on from multiple pawns in our lower layered frontlines," The subordinate said hastily.
"And?" The Rain Commander said once more with a tone of impatience, his finger gently tapped the corner of the fountain making 'tap' noises.
"Ah... ah, there is also a peculiar rumor going around, one that I think the lord will be pleased to h----" As he was speaking in a mumbling manner, he was soon cut off by a sudden action.
BANG! The speaking subordinate was promptly blown to pieces as his blue blood stained the beautiful glossy floor and his surroundings, the observing individuals seated in their chairs also started trembling as they looked at the corpse of their comrade.
Crack! "Speak clearly!" The Rain Commander impatient said again, as he gripped the edges the water fountain causing a few cracks to appear on its surface.
"Replying to lord Rain Commander! We have received reports of there being sightings of humans in the lower layers, particularly the Interior Regions and Outer Regions," A prominent female subordinate said, as she swiftly appeared bowed politely.
"Hmm, well now... this is the quite interesting news. So, it's that time again I presume. After so long, we will finally be able to leave this wretched place." As the Rain Commander in the fountain though to here, he waved his finger towards the ball of water at the center of the subordinates.
BANG! A commanding presence soon filled the area as a set of blue battle armor flew out towards the figure lying in the fountain, as if its presence alone is enough to describe its wonders. It mysteriously fused with the body of Rain Commander covering his entirety, leaving only his long cyan-blue hair and dazzlingly fiendish blue eyes for the world to view.
He then slowly stood up with his tall figure soon eclipsing the height of the water fountain and moved his feet to the shining floor underneath, calmly stepping down the fountain.
Instantly, a terrifying aura soon after shrouded the world as the rain in a thousand kilometers started to flow towards the dark palace, or rather, the Rain Commander who stood within the dark palace.
"All hail the Rain Commander!" The prominent subordinates said in unison as they bowed politely upon seeing the Rain Commander equip his combat arms. The look of fear in their eyes was now replaced with a look of excitement as they could tell what was going to happen next.
Looking at his minions, the Rain Commander smirked as he spoke in a loud and powerful voice, "All Generals will heed my command! We will make haste to the 'center of all zones,' as the time for this 'Cycle's Zone Conference,' will soon be at hand."
"Yes, lord Rain Commander!" The prominent subordinates replied in unison as they promptly made their way outside of the central room.
The Rain Commander who stood proudly with his armor then looked outside of palace rooms window, gazing through the cloudy and thunderous skies as he spoke to himself, "It seems like our monotonous days are about to liven up..."
******
At the pinnacle of the skies, a region filled with endless white clouds.
Grew a large group of tall trees, each tree was almost 'limitlessly' tall as their lower trunks could no longer be seen blanketed by the sea of clouds. If one carefully looked, they would see a bunch of nests built on top of multiple large branches.
These nests were huge as the smallest of them were no lesser than 50 meters. A few odd-looking buildings where built on top of these nests each looking as if they were constructed by large twigs.
In front of these buildings, within an enclosed patch laid a group massive eggs each emitting a dark nefarious aura. A group of ferocious looking birdmen dressed in dark-feather armor stood around these eggs at various positions within the tree nests; they sharply gazed around the environment with their keen eyes as their armors gleamed with a sharp baleful light.
Swoosh! A cool breeze blew at this distance, filling the area with an atmosphere of freedom and looseness. However, at the summit of these trees, a feeling of oppression could be felt.
It was a large and stunning construct whose architecture though crude, exceeded the likes of any which could be built by man. An unknown metal or rather, a crystal object that gleamed like metal was stacked together in a manner like that of twigs in a birds nest. With a width of no less than 1 kilometer, a stream of runes could be seen trailing from the center of this crystal-like 'nest' all the way to its edges. Each rune glowed with a neon-like light, further adding to the mystery of this construct.
A collection of odd-looking chairs, with the shape like that of eggshells, were placed around at specific locations each with a terminal-like pillar protruding from the floor in-front them.
A few elder birdmen could be seen inspecting the information shown on these 'terminals.' At the center of these groups where another set of chairs, however, these chairs were arranged around a single larger chair.
A group of intimidating-looking birdmen each with a dark aura flowing from their bodies sat on these chairs, as they calmly looked at the figure seated at the central position. It was a large birdman, one that carried with it a dark but noble presence filled with arrogance as well as dignity, he was garbed in an unusual looking dark-feather armor with his beak facing the peak of the sky, and his eyes closed in a relaxed manner as if everything bellow was not worth seeing.
Suddenly, his large eyes opened as he gazed towards a distant part of the cloudy sky and spoke, "Oh, my crow was injured this makes another attempt another failure. Hmph! Reinz, your barrier won't last forever!"
As he said this, he couldn't help but look towards his subordinates as he was about to prepare a new command. However, before he could speak a small hawk flew from the distance and landed on his shoulders. The hawk's eyes gleamed with intelligence as it opened its beck releasing a melodious sound that traveling to the ears of the large birdman.
Upon translating the words, the large birdman frowned before smiling. He patted the head of the hawk while speaking to his surrounding subordinates, "Good, very good! Humans in the Ancient Dragon Battlefield? Hahaha! I haven't been this excited in a long, long time. Men of skies, prepare! For we shall immediately head to the 'center of all zones' then straight to our destined battlefields!"
"Glory to Sky Commander!" The birdmen shouted with excitement as stood on their claw-like feet and soared to skies excitedly, their feather falling about the area creating a glorious scene.

A dark, chilly wind blew in this area, as a cloudy atmosphere lingered throughout its fields. It was a mysterious land filled with dead meadows, an endless assortment of graves filling one's sight as far as one could see, and infinite graveyard too nefarious for any forms of life to be...
However, there are a few strange entities that could be seen wandering in this area.
A group of green, dark blue and other ominous looking balls of light patrolled about these lands. As if attracted to the gloomy atmosphere and skeletons resting peacefully at the gravestones. One of these balls of light quickly flew into one of these skeletons soon after causing the empty eyes sockets of the skeleton to light up in an ominous hue; the skeleton then stood up as it assorted its armor and looked towards the endless sea of graves.
"Jie Jie Jie! It'sss ssssooo dull here, I sssshould travel to the lower battlefieldssss and see what'ssss happening there..." As it said this, the skeleton was about to make its way out of graveyard but was suddenly disturbed by a sprite.
Swish! A beam of light quickly traveled from the distance making its way towards the center of these endless fields of graves, as the skeleton saw this it continued help but revealed a 'stunned' light from its empty sockets as it looked towards the central location.
Resting quietly in the central area, was a vast Necropolis filled with a variety of unusual looking tombs each arranged peculiarly. They were surrounded by many large tombstones with the biggest tomb that resting at their center, surrounded by unique looking monuments.
This place was 'dead' the very definition of true stillness which in most cultures signify 'the end.' A pity however, some beings didn't take this analogy well.
Bang! Following a loud sound, the massive tomb at the central area shook as its stone entrance cover was pushed away by some unknown force revealing a dark passageway.
Step. Step. Step. A series of slowly but heart shaking footsteps soon echoed throughout this quiet Necropolis, as the footsteps grew louder a figure could barely be noticed making its way out of the tomb slowly. Soon, this figure arrived at the tombs exit and looked around at the environment in silence.
It was a corpse, one of an unusual kind. Its skin was transparent leaving its interior clear enough for all to see, however, these internals where not of the kind ordinary lifeforms would see. As a colorful network of interconnected purple lights gathered around a central core. It was an ethereal-like being with its form vaguely real, with eyes of a blue-purplish color that glowed in a bright ominous manner.
It swept across its naked body and shouted towards the void, "Ar----mo----ur!"
The voice of this being resounded throughout the quiet area, followed by a loud booming sound.
Poof! Quickly a semi-transparent armor materialled out of thin air; it equipped itself around the body of the figure in a swift manner as a dark cloak formed from its back and wrapped around the figure creating a dark silhouette with ominous eyes and shining under equipment.
The figure smiled as it saw its complete form and then moved its foot forwards placing it on the ground outside of its tomb.
Step. Rumble! The instant its feet touched the ground, all of the still tombs and tombstones suddenly started to shake violently as beams of green, dark blue and other ominous looking lights illuminated the Necropolis surroundings. Very shortly, a group of similar looking corpses made an appearance each equipping different standards of armors as they then bowed towards the figure at the central area.
"We greet lord Ghosssst Commander!" Their voices echoed throughout the silent surroundings as they spoke in unison.
"I have recently sssssensed the presence of a greater elder among our kinsssssman, but it was of a vague nature. Where are our sssssprites? Summon them at once! For I require an update of our sssssssurroundings," The Ghost Commander said then ordered.
"As the Ghost Commander wishes!" A silhouette said who was amongst the subordinates garbed with unusual robes, but as he was about to use his special means. A beam of light swiftly made its way from the distance and appeared before the gathered individuals.
Poof! An evil looking sprite appeared, revealing a vile kind of aura. However, despite its dark nature. Its face was filled with solemnness while at its depths it hid a tinge of excitement. Quickly, it flew towards the Ghost Commander's side and spoke in whispers.
As the Ghost Commander heard its words, his ominously looking eyes flickered for an instant soon after glowing in a more vibrant light. The Ghost Commander lift his head up and laughed before speaking, "Jie Jie Jie! The time for our Ghossssstkin to rise has come, the ssssshadow rises from the cornersssss of all light. Using the darknessssss, we shall sweep over enemiessssss and use their corpses as fuel for our campaign!"
"Glory to our kinsssssmen!" The group shouted in unison, as they raised their weapons to air they glowed in an ominous light that painted the area in their hues.
"Prepare at once, for we must head to 'center of all zones!'" The Ghost Commander said his voice echoed throughout the distance of this dark, gloomy region...
